I am Kirissa Sewraj, a Senior Manager in Corporate Tax where my role is a Business Tax Advisor in the UKI Tax team in EY Ireland.
I am a Chartered Accountant and did my SAICA articles in tax. I have a Masters of Commerce in Taxation and currently studying to be a Chartered Tax Advisor. I trained with a Big Four in South Africa where I specialised in mining tax. My role entailed audit of tax, tax accounting, tax compliance and training and upskilling of the trainees. After that, I went into industry for 7 months, after which I joined EY Ireland.
I applied to a few of the big 4 companies in the UK and Ireland but what made me choose EY Ireland was the personal touch I received from the team. From the application to the interview, I already felt welcome and part of a team. The move was challenging… it’s an administrative nightmare but the support available makes it worthwhile. Each day gets better.
In EY Ireland, I get to meet interesting people and always able to network, I love the hybrid model also. My teammates are supportive and friendly, and I have now the opportunity to explore a different country. I am excited about my future at EY!
