Fidelma Clarke is a director in our Risk Advisory practice in Dublin with 25 years’ experience in banking, specializing in risk management. Fidelma joined EY in 2016 from a significant Irish financial institution, and since then has been working closely with a large US bank on their transition from Irish to EU regulatory supervision.
Prior to joining EY, Fidelma held a number of senior roles in Risk including Head of Governance and Assurance, Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Head of Risk Analytics. She was heavily involved in supporting the bank in adapting to the new Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) regulatory regime and requirements in the EU, and in supporting the precursor to European Central Bank supervision which comprised an Asset Quality Review (AQR) process and Comprehensive Stress Test – for which she was Program manager.
As Chief Risk Officer of a financial institution covered by the Irish Government Guarantee Scheme (2009 – 2012) Fidelma has in-depth executive experience of managing a bank through the worst financial crisis Ireland has experienced.
Fidelma has been a Non-Executive Director of a bank subsidiary a covered bond bank and has also held the role of company secretary. Fidelma holds an M.Litt in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and is a Member of the Institute of Directors Ireland.
