Our first webcast in the Crossing borders for financial services series will take place on Tuesday, 27 April 2021. It will focus on ‘Crossing borders: financial services and the new UK-EU relationship post-Brexit’.

The UK and the EU have now agreed the terms for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to facilitate regulatory cooperation on financial services, whilst negotiations on other aspects of the post-Brexit landscape continue. Our webcast discussions will focus on what the MoU means for financial services firms, equivalence determinations and the future relationship between the UK and EU.

Our panel of senior EY professionals will include:

  • Views on the European regulatory environment post-Brexit – Cormac Murphy, Banking Union Lead for EMEIA FSO
  • A political update from the UK – Andrew Pilgrim, FS Government Lead
  • Perspectives from the EU – David Doyle, Senior EU Advisor
  • An update on future financial services regulation – John Liver, Global Regulatory Network
  • A market update – Vera Kukić, UK FS Crossing Borders Lead
  • Immigration considerations – Seema Farazi, UK FS Immigration Lead
