On Thursday 6 March 2014, the EY Financial Services Thought Gallery held a FATCA Update breakfast briefing. The session featured presentations from EY’s Amanda Murphy and Ray O’Connor, and guest speaker Brian Boyle from the Revenue service.
The event provided an update on the latest developments in the FATCA sphere. On 7 February, Irish Revenue released updated draft FATCA guidance, superseding previous draft guidance notes issued in May 2013 and explaining the requirements for compliance with the proposed Irish regulations. In addition, the OECD announced their proposals for a “Common Reporting Standard” for global automatic exchange of financial account information, a development that could lead to a global FATCA-like regime.
The EY presentation from the day can be found below. For more information on this or any other aspect of FATCA, please contact Amanda Stone or your regular FATCA contact.
