Aidan Walsh is a tax partner in EY’s Financial Services Office. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the taxation of financial services activities in a domestic and international context. Aidan is a qualified solicitor with a law degree from UCC.
Aidan is a member the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers and holds a diploma in corporate treasury from DCU. He is also an associate of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland. He has recently completed a Master’s in Business Studies on Intra-Firm Co-ordination. Aidan has 20 years of experience advising banks and international groups on Irish tax issues, working for periods in London and in one of Ireland’s largest banks. He specialises in international tax structuring and advisory.
Aidan has published and spoken widely on the taxation of financial services in Ireland, tax risk management and other matters. He is one of the co-authors of the leading textbook in the area: Taxing Financial Transactions in Ireland published by the Institute of Tax Ireland. He is also co-author (with PJ Henehan) of Global Tax Risk Management published by Tottel in the UK in 2007 and which has been sold to tax professionals in over 20 countries.
Aidan is a member of the Irish Prime Minister’s Banking and Treasury Group.
