Ciarán Conroy is a Partner with EY Financial Services. He joined EY in 2010 and has worked with a wide variety of clients within the aviation finance, private equity and banking sectors, primarily providing tax advisory and transaction support services.
Ciarán has significant experience in advising aircraft leasing groups and banks on the establishment and structuring of aircraft leasing platforms through Ireland covering structure planning, debt financing, tax modelling, transaction taxes and implementation support. Ciarán also advises on the use of Irish vehicles as part of structured finance transactions – particularly in the aircraft leasing sector. He has advised a number of large aircraft lessors in relation to the acquisition / divestment of significant portfolios of aircraft including sale structuring advice. He is a member of EY’s Global Aviation Finance network.
Ciarán has also led multiple transaction tax engagements in recent years in the Financial Services space, including diligence (buy & sell side) and post transaction structuring.
Ciarán advises multinational groups on the impact of changes arising from the BEPS work and other EU tax initiatives. He has also spoken regularly at industry events on the impact of such changes and has contributed to publications such as the Irish Tax Review.
Ciarán is a member of both the Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Tax Institute. He is also part of the TALC Direct Taxes Working Group on Aircraft Leasing.
