Fergus McNally is our Wealth and Asset Management Sector Leader. He joined EY in 1999 and has over 20 years’ experience of providing audit and advisory services to a variety of Global Asset Managers, Asset Service Providers’ and Investment Funds.
Having worked in both Dublin and New York, Fergus has a wealth of experience across asset classes and product types, as well as understanding the impact of regulatory change across all elements of the Asset Management value chain. His clients include many of Europe’s largest asset managers and asset servicers’ whom he advises on structuring, regulation, valuation issues, accounting and disclosure. He has also worked with alternative funds in the design and set-up of operating and governance structures.
Fergus has extensive experience in investment pricing models and in auditing the valuation of a wide variety of investment product types. He has worked with global organisations to identify, articulate and implement appropriate target operating models.
At an industry level, Fergus has participated in and chaired a number of strategically important Irish Funds groups. Fergus is currently the Vice-Chair of Irish Funds’ Product Steering Group and on the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Banking’s Certified Investment Fund Director Programme, where he lectures on the topic of Valuation Governance.
As a passionate advocate of change, Fergus has been instrumental in the development of EY’s WAMapps fund audit technology platform which has been deployed across the Global EY Wealth and Asset Management Practice. He is currently the EMEIA Wealth and Asset Management Innovation Sector Lead.
Fergus holds a Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies from UCD and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, where he has also earned a postgraduate qualification in IFRS.
