Triple FS – Females Fast Forward in Financial Services

Triple FS is an action-focused initiative developed by EY, MetLife and BNY Mellon with the singular goal of increasing female leadership in the Financial Services industry across Ireland, through a unique mentorship programme and complimentary targeted events. The programme matches high potential females, who are preparing to step into a leadership role, with successful male and female leaders from other Financial Services organisations.

The second year of the Triple FS programme launched in September 2019. If you are interested in finding out more about the programme please get in touch.

Scroll down to watch our video, where some of the previous mentors and mentees talk about the benefits of getting involved in this initiative.

Triple FS is unique because it:

  • Is focused solely on female leadership in the Financial Services industry
  • Is a niche programme which targets experienced female professionals who have been identified by their business as having high potential for a near term senior leadership position such as Executive/Board/Partner level.
  • Pairs mentees with a male or female senior leader in a different organisation within the FS industry
  • Achieves pairings via a hands-on matching process based on the specific needs of the mentees and strengths of the mentors
  • Offers targeted action-oriented workshop style events focused on leadership for both mentors, mentees and guests

Benefits to Mentors

  • Expand your network with the wider mentor population of leaders across the Financial Services industry
  • Increase your visibility, reputation and contribution within and beyond your own organisation
  • Participate in a tangible change to the Financial Services industry leadership in Ireland
  • Share your own insight to support a high potential female in her career
  • Develop new perspectives by working with a mentee from a different organisation

Benefits to Mentees

  • Establish connections with senior leaders and peers in the Financial Services Industry
  • Increase awareness of personal biases, assumptions and areas for improvement
  • Receive guidance and practical advice to help achieve professional goals
  • Gain a new perspective and understanding of their own skills and experience
  • Enhance confidence in dealing with challenges and issues relating to female leadership

Benefits to Organisations & Industry

  • Builds relationships across various organisations which helps to expand professional networks and relationships
  • Builds employee’s mentoring capabilities and leadership development
  • Demonstrates the organisations commitment to supporting more women to achieve senior executive positions
  • Encourages leadership balance in the Financial Services industry which has been shown to achieve greater organisational success
  • Contributes to the growth of the Financial Services industry in Ireland

Details of the programme:

The mentoring programme runs annually and begins in September of each year. The commitment required is as follows:

  • Nominate a female mentee from your organisation with high potential for a leadership position
  • Act as a mentor to a female nominee from a different FS organisation
  • Participate in the 3 programme events of approximately 2 hours each to take place:
    • September – Kick-off event
    • January – Check in event
    • June – Closing event
  • Participate in 6 hours of 1 to 1 meetings between October and May with your assigned mentee to focus on 3 of their main development areas

Below is some of the feedback we received from participants:

I think this is one of the most beneficial programs I have been on. The networking opportunities were excellent. I also found it really beneficial to have an independent mentor to help me focus on my career with allotted time.

I found the pairing with my mentor very good – we had similar background so he was able to provide me with very relevant advice. Overall, fantastic programme and I feel very privileged to have been part of it.

Great opportunity to receive independent, impartial advice and a different perspective on things. Good for building my external network.
